Rookie defensive back Macho Harris was one of the standout players of the rookie and selected veterans portion of training camp. One of the intriguing storylines of the pads coming on was how Harris would look once the plays were "live." Unfortunately, Harris suffered a high ankle sprain on the last play of Tuesday afternoon's practice, which has sidelined him for three days now. Head coach Andy Reid has downplayed the injury, and expects Harris back soon. Harris echoed that sentiment.
"It's getting better, getting better everyday," Harris said of the injury. "It's tough because I want to play football. But other than that, it's part of the game, you have to expect things like this to happen."
Harris was singled out by defensive coordinator Sean McDermott earlier in camp for his immense talent. McDermott also said that he has confidence that Harris can ingratiate himself into the defense at both cornerback and safety - Harris was a cornerback in college at Virginia Tech.
"So far so good," Harris said, when asked about his adjustment to a new position. "I'm learning, picking things up. I'm excited, can't wait to get back out there."
