Maclin To Practice Wednesday, Play Sunday

Quarterback Michael Vick said on Monday that he will play Sunday against Miami and to help he'll have the team's leader in receptions at his disposal as well.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin did not practice on Monday for precautionary reasons. The third-year receiver said that he will practice Wednesday and the plan is to play Sunday after missing the past two games with a shoulder injury and a hamstring injury. The hamstring has been the more serious of the two ailments.

"I feel fine. I'll get out there Wednesday and get back out there with the team," Maclin said. "There's ways around the shoulder. We just have to make sure the hamstring's right. I tried to come back once and it just wasn't ready, so I just have to wait until it's ready this time."

The Eagles have certainly missed Maclin's impact on the offense. Before suffering the injuries in the Arizona game, Maclin had at least 54 receiving yards in each game this season minus the season opener in St. Louis. Maclin has 46 catches for 612 yards and four touchdowns in nine contests in 2011.

"It's frustrating. It definitely has been tough, especially on me not just being out with my team," Maclin said. "I feel like I can definitely help this team in a major way and not being able to be out there kind of hurts a little bit."

Maclin did not make the trip to Seattle for the game last Thursday. Watching the NFL Network broadcast, Maclin thought the way his teammate DeSean Jackson was depicted was unfair. NFL Network showed quarterback Vince Young talking in Jackson's direction and Jackson was not paying attention. Even Maclin thought that Young was not talking to Jackson. Head coach Andy Reid staunchly defended Jackson on Friday and Maclin echoed Reid's sentiments on Monday.

"I don't think they understood exactly what was going on. I think everybody's kind of assuming things just because of whatever is going on with him. It's unfortunate that people do those types of things, but 10 times out of 10, if somebody who you're playing with is talking to you, you pay attention," Maclin said.

"I don't honestly think Vince was talking to him at the present time. He was looking over him talking to somebody else. Obviously, they're going to try to find anything they can to nitpick at certain things. It's unfortunate that that happened like that."
