Steven Rangel: What did you want to be as a child?
Mathis: "My only dreams as a child were to be in the NFL and a professional wrestler in the WWF."
John Simon: What are your expectations for next season?
Mathis: "Hopefully I'm re-signed here in Philly. If so, I expect us to learn a lot from what happened in 2011 and translate our tremendous amount of talent into a legitimate Super Bowl run."
Derek Frisicchio: What is on your Christmas list?
Mathis: "I've asked Santa for a win in Dallas."
Allan Le: What team did you cheer for when you were a child?
Mathis: "When I was a child my uncle, Bob Baumhower, was a Pro Bowl defensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins. Because of this, I pulled for the Dolphins early on."
Dominic Cardile: What's your favorite NFL city to play in?
Mathis: "Tough question to answer. When I'm playing a game, I do my best to block out everything outside of the white lines. I've played in 29 of the 31 NFL cities and they all have qualities that make them unique."
Hunter Hill: What did it feel like holding off the Giants for another "Miracle at the Meadowlands"?
Mathis: "Any time you can defeat a division opponent it's a great feeling. Doing it in the dramatic fashion that we did was the cherry on top."
Demond 'Too Fly' Allen: Can you play dodgeball?
Mathis: "Yes, I'll knock your head off. You wanna battle?"
Dylan Bernhard: Who is your best friend on the team?
Mathis: "I'm the closest with all the guys on the offensive line. Naturally, we spend a lot of time together so I've gotten to know the guys pretty well. We have a great group of dudes on the OL."
Chris Merzlock: I am trying to make it to play college and pro football ... Is there any advise that you can tell me that helped you get there?
Mathis: "The best advice I can give is to think about how every decision in your life will affect you as a football player. If it's something that will make you take a step backwards, don't do it. If it's something that will help you become a better player, do it. I've encountered countless obstacles to get where I am today, staying relentless is crucial."
Nelson Hartman: Who's your favorite superhero?
Mathis: "Superman. We share some of the same powers."
Jacob F Strauss: Who do you look up to?
Mathis: "I look up to the all of the guys that played before me in the NFL. This is a very tough industry and there were many guys who sacrificed their health to play the game. It's because of these guys that the safety of the game has continued to evolve as well as its popularity."
Michael Basilone: What changes if any do you make in your training regimen from week to week during the season?
Mathis: "During the offseason, I'm in the weight room six days a week and really trying to make a physical transformation. During the season, I cut that down to three days a week and the emphasis becomes more focused on maintenance. The season can break a player's body down so staying on top of one's training is very important."
