Running back LeSean McCoy scored his second touchdown - both from 1-yard out - in the third quarter to extend the Eagles' lead to 24-0 over Washington. In addition, McCoy eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season in just the 11th game of the season.
McCoy returned at the start of the second half after injuring his right hamstring on a 16-yard run in the second quarter. McCoy showed no ill effects of the injury as he gained 5 yards on the first carry and 18 rushing yards on the drive. McCoy also caught one pass for 7 yards and drew a horse collar penalty on Washington.
With the two touchdowns, McCoy has 10 career multi-touchdown games and six with at least two rushing scores.
McCoy also scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter after a 42-yard catch-and-run by tight end Brent Celek.
In the third quarter, McCoy hit the 1,000-yard mark for the third time in his young career and the 18th time any Eagles running back has accomplished the feat in team history.
