LeSean McCoy leads the NFL in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, runs of 20 yards or more, rushing first downs and total first downs. On the gridiron, the McCoy follows his blockers, but in the community, he's front and center, leading the way.
On Saturday, December 3, the dynamic rusher will "shop 'til he drops" at a local Toys R Us, racking up toys, instead of yards, for families in the Delaware Valley dealing with childhood cancer.
The event has been organized by Kisses For Kyle, a foundation that's main goal is to give direct financial assistance to families affected by cancer, including assistance with rent and mortgage, utility bills, car payments and groceries. During the holiday season, they also provide gifts for families in need.
After McCoy's hour-long shopping spree, he'll deliver the gifts to over 100 kids from area families. He won't do it all alone, though. He'll have a little help along the way. No, not from offensive linemen Jason Peters and Todd Herremans, but from Santa Claus and his elves, who will join McCoy in spreading holiday cheer, on Saturday.
