Quarterback Donovan McNabb spoke to the Eagles media relations department for a quick question-and-answer session updating his health and seemed hopeful that his fractured rib could heal enough to possibly play on Sunday against the Saints. Here is the Q & A ...
On how he feels right now: "(Jokingly) I feel great, I'm going to do some dancing later and move around a little bit. (Serious) It's most important to just take care of the body, relax and give it an opportunity to heal."
On what the rest of the week will be like for him: "It's a slow process of just meeting with our trainers, doing two-a-days with treatment, going through the process of just like I'm playing in the game, and seeing how I feel at the end (of the week)."
On whether he has a sense yet of if he can play on Sunday vs. the New Orleans Saints: "Not necessarily, anything can happen. It's just Monday right now, but if Friday and Saturday come along and I'm feeling a lot better, you just never know."
Head coach Andy Reid earlier in the day did not rule out McNabb playing on Sunday, but he did say that McNabb was unlikely to practice during the week as his fractured rib heals. McNabb was injured in the third quarter of Sunday's 38-10 win over Carolina. If McNabb can't play, third-year man Kevin Kolb will make his first career start.
