1. Practice Notes: 15 highlights as the Eagles prepare for the preseason opener
Tuesday marked the final full practice before the preseason opener on Thursday. Fran Duffy and Ben Fennell provided the big-picture takeaways featuring a lot of wins for the Eagles' defense. Check out all 15 highlights from practice here.
Cornerback Josh Hawkins had himself a nice little day. The veteran corner, who is now on his third NFL team after joining the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016, broke up three passes in team periods as an outside cornerback. Hawkins has been one of the most competitive corners in Training Camp and looks most comfortable when he's able to keep everything in front of him. – Ben Fennell
2. Who's playing on Thursday?
Head coach Doug Pederson spoke with the media on Tuesday and there seemed to be a common theme throughout their questions. Everyone wants to know if quarterback Carson Wentz and others will get any reps in the first preseason game this Thursday. 3. Nathan Gerry makes his bid to be the man in the middle of Eagles defense
The third-year linebacker, Nathan Gerry, is ready to make this season the difference maker in his career. Gerry's role as call maker is crucial to this team's defense and his intention is to make that his full-time role. "I want to be 'the guy,' Gerry said. "I've always been the guy to make the calls on defense in my career. I've been one of those 'leader' guys who has lined everybody up and taken that responsibility, so this is no different," Gerry said. "It's an audition for me. I look at it that way every day, really. I have to be confident in what I'm seeing and trust my eyes. I've worked hard at this. I'm ready for this opportunity."

4. Rookies prepare for their first game at Lincoln Financial Field
Many new Eagles have their sights set on Thursday night to show the city what they can do on the field. The rookies are excited to experience a game under the lights in Philly. As they look forward to that, the rookies reflect on their first collegiate game, advice they've received, and much more. Check out the full story!
"My first game at Penn State, I think I had two sacks. I was nervous and anxious because I was the new guy playing in front of like 100,000 fans," said Shareef Miller, a native of Northeast Philadelphia. "It's going to be a different feeling though playing for the Eagles, in the NFL. They were my favorite team growing up, so that's going to be a different feeling."
