The NFL League Year will begin on Wednesday and the 2020 NFL Draft will still take place beginning April 23. The big difference is that there will be no public events.
The annual player selection meeting was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas this year, but due to COVID-19 the league announced on Monday that the event will only be televised. The league is still exploring how the process will be conducted. We will have live coverage all weekend on Eagles Draft Central presented by Dietz and Watson.
"This decision reflects our foremost priority – the health and safety of all fans and citizens," Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "While this outcome is disappointing both to the NFL and to the Las Vegas community, we look forward to partnering with the Raiders, the City of Las Vegas, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for a future NFL Draft as well as evaluating opportunities for other major NFL events in Las Vegas in the future, including the Super Bowl."
The Eagles have 10 draft picks, including No. 21 overall. The Eagles were awarded three compensatory picks for the loss of free agents in the 2019 offseason, an additional third-round pick and two fourth-round choices.
