Pos. Rank: 6 | Grade: 2nd-3rd Round | Height: 6-2 | Weight: 242 | 40: 4.73 | Year: 4-Jr. |
The Good: College defensive end who projects to outside linebacker at the next level. Plays with a good degree of quickness, immediately alters his angle of attack and shows a burst of closing speed bearing down on the play. Effectively uses his hands, breaks down well and gives a lot of effort hustling around the field. Makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage yet also flashes ability dropped off the line in space. Solid instincts and overall awareness.
The Bad: Lacks bulk, strength and handled by fullbacks at the point of attack. Possesses solid speed but not truly an explosive player.
The Verdict: Gibson is a hard-working defender who gets the most of his abilities and plays a smart brand of football. Lacks the great upside yet is polished in many aspects of the game with will see the field as a rookie in the NFL.
