OT Bryan Bulaga, Iowa | |||||
Pos. Rank: 2 | Grade: 1st Round | Height: 6-5 1/2 | Weight: 314 | 40: 5.20 | Year: 3-Jr. |
The Good: Athletic left tackle that possesses a great degree of upside potential. Blocks with terrific fundamentals setting with a wide base, bending his knees, and playing with leverage. Keeps his feet moving throughout the action, makes good use of angles, and stays square. Jolts opponents with terrific hand punch, effectively adjusts to pick up blitzes and keeps defenders in front of him. Blocks with a nasty attitude and looks to hit as many defenders as possible in a single play. Strong and gets movement run blocking.
The Bad: Has struggled with injuries the past three seasons and missed time. Lacks classic footwork off the edge in pass protection.
The Verdict: Bulaga is a well-sized lineman who plays with effective fundamentals, strength, and a nasty attitude. He'll need time to complete his game but has starting potential at the next level and is a prospect on the rise.
