Not a whole lot went right for the Eagles during their 5-0 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night, but there were still some notable individual performances. Here are a few that stood out.
LB Jordan Hicks
Hicks has proven throughout the preseason that he is back to his peak form and provided more evidence of that Thursday with four tackles, a sack, and a pass deflection that kept the Browns out of the end zone.
WR DeAndre Carter
The Sacramento State product made an impact in multiple facets against Cleveland. Offensively, he led the team with 73 receiving yards. He also went for 29 yards on a punt return.
CB Avonte Maddox
The rookie made the biggest play of his young career when he picked off Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield in the fourth quarter and nearly returned it for a touchdown.
DT Haloti Ngata
The veteran defensive tackle spent a lot of time in the Cleveland backfield and collected a sack in the process.
RB Wendell Smallwood
The third-year back got the start Thursday night and put forth a productive outing with 53 yards on 12 carries.
