What We Know: Donovan McNabb's rib injury in Week 1 afforded Kevin Kolb his first legitimate opportunity to lead this offense. While the team went 1-1 in his two starts, Kolb threw for more than 300 yards in both games and showed a good command of the offense. His play should certainly bolster the confidence of anyone doubting the depth of the team's quarterback position.
McNabb, meanwhile, figures to be back for the Tampa Bay game. He threw for 79 yards and two scores on 10 of 18 passing in two-and-a-half quarters in the season opener at Carolina. He also ran the ball with some success - 27 yards and a touchdown on four attempts. Of course, he was injured on his 3-yard scoring run.
Michael Vick is working his way into the mix. Vick ran once for 7 yards and threw a pair of incomplete passes while playing 11 snaps against the Chiefs.
Bottom line - The team has a good problem here with three quarterbacks capable of winning in this league, and they certainly seem covered for the present and the future at the position.
What Needs To Be Resolved: With McNabb likely to back in the lineup against the Buccaneers, how will head coach Andy Reid handle his QB situation on gameday? Against the Chiefs, Kolb, Vick and Jeff Garcia were all active for the game. Reid may utilize a similar plan for the Bucs since it will be McNabb's first game back from the rib injury.
If Reid opts to designate anyone as the team's inactive No. 3 quarterback, Kolb would likely be the odd man out since Vick needs to be listed as the No. 2 quarterback because of his role in the Wildcat.
Speaking of the Wildcat, Vick said he thinks 10-11 snaps is about the maximum number he'll probably be used in a game this season. With McNabb back, we'll see how the coaches pick and choose their spots with such plays and packages.
