Cornerback Asante Samuel took part in Monday's practice in a limited capacity. It was Samuel's first work on the field since suffering a knee sprain in the win over the Giants on Nov. 21.
Head coach Andy Reid further updated Samuel's status on his weekly radio show on Monday evening.
"We'll see," Reid said. "He worked today. We'll just see how he does after sleeping on it and how it feels tomorrow."
Reid said that Monday's practice was more of an introduction to the Texans offense for the defense. Tuesday will be the all-important installation day and if Samuel can practice that will provide a better gauge as to whether Samuel can play against Houston.
The only player to come out of Sunday's game injured was wide receiver Riley Cooper, who did not practice on Monday due to a knee injury. Reid said that Cooper is day-to-day and if he can't play, then Chad Hall will be in the active lineup on Thursday.
