WIP's Howard Eskin, appearing on NBC 10, said that the notion of the Eagles pursuing Favre is "possible." Favre, of course, is retired, though that hasn't stopped him from coming back before. He has a long-standing relationship with both Eagles head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg dating back to their days in Green Bay.
Any hypothetical interest in Favre is contingent upon Kevin Kolb being traded, and, of course, a new league-year beginning. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Favre coming to the Eagles is a "long shot" and that "a lot of things would need to fall into place."
Favre, perhaps best-known for his seminal appearance in There's Something About Mary, holds almost every league passing record, including passing yards and touchdown passes, as well the streak for most consecutive games played. If the dominoes were to somehow fall from a Kolb trade to a Favre acquisition, at least Eagles fans wouldn't have to remember a new jersey number for the No. 2 quarterback.
