In the wake of coaching intern Matt Nagy's contract being disapproved by the NFL, the Eagles are going to sign quarterback Adam DiMichele according to Les Bowen of the* Philadelphia Daily News*. The Eagles have not made any official announcement. The Eagles wanted to sign Nagy because of Kevin Kolb's MCL sprain which will keep him out for Thursday's game against the Patriots. Kolb's status will be day-to-day after the game.
DiMichele will suit up and play on Thursday, according to the report, despite not taking a snap with the team since he was released by the Eagles on June 11. DiMichele took part in the post-draft minicamps and most of the Organized Team Activities.
A three-year starter at Temple, DiMichele threw for 5,024 yards, finishing fourth on the Owls' all-time list, adding 45 touchdowns (40 pass, 5 rush). A two-time captain and team MVP, DiMichele was one of the most accomplished high school athletes in the history of Pennsylvania, earning first-team All-State honors in three sports, while being cited as the state Player of the Year in both football and basketball at Sto-Rox HS in McKees Rocks.
