According to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Carolina Panthers will not place the franchise tag on defensive end Julius Peppers. Peppers, 30, will become an unrestricted free agent.
"It's official - Panthers will not tag DE Julius Peppers. He'll be allowed to test free agency and leave Carolina," tweeted Schefter.
Peppers has been linked to the Eagles, who could use some more production at defensive end opposite Pro Bowler Trent Cole.
