Adam Caplan of Scout.com is reporting that the Eagles will entertain running back Mike Bell for a visit to the NovaCare Complex tomorrow.
"The Eagles have scheduled free-agent RB Mike Bell for a visit for Tuesday, source said," tweeted Caplan.
Bell spent the 2009 season with the New Orleans Saints and rushed for 654 yards on 172 attempts (3.8 yards per carry). The 26-year-old Bell, 6-foot-0, 225 pounds, is considered a powerful, between-the-tackles rusher.
Bell is a restricted free agent, but he received the "right of first refusal" tender from the Saints. That means that any team is free to sign Bell without giving up any compensation, but the Saints would have seven days to match any offer that Bell receives.
After parting ways with Brian Westbrook earlier this off-season, the Eagles currently have LeSean McCoy, Eldra Buckley and Martell Mallett on the roster as running backs, along with fullbacks Leonard Weaver and Dwayne Wright. Running back Justin Fargas visited with the Eagles last Friday.
