CLEVELAND – Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie walked into Cleveland wearing a pink shirt, pink pants and white shoes. Oh, and pink frames with no lenses as glasses. He was in the mood to make a fashion statement.

"It's all part of my personality. I love to go out there and have fun," Rodgers-Cromartie said.

A pair of interceptions, his first two as an Eagle, and some dominating coverage later, Rodgers-Cromartie also made a statement on the field.

"It's a great way to start off from a personal standpoint," Rodgers-Cromartie said. "I give credit to the D-line because I knew the ball was going to come out fast. I'm snapping my head around just to get a feel for where the ball is. Opportunities presented itself. You just have to make it."

Rodgers-Cromartie ran step for step twice with Browns receiver Travis Benjamin and picked off rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden, two of the three thefts the Eagles had against Weeden.

"That's just one of my attributes, to be one of the taller, faster guys who can run with most guys," Rodgers-Cromartie said. "The main thing is just stay up with them and in the end turn around and get the ball."

It was a terrific start for Rodgers-Cromartie and for the Eagles secondary, with the hope of more to come as the tests get tougher. Rodgers-Cromartie, acquired last year in the trade that sent quarterback Kevin Kolb to Arizona, ascended to the starting lineup late in 2011 when Asante Samuel suffered a hamstring injury. The Eagles liked what they saw so much from Rodgers-Cromartie in wins over Dallas and Washington that they dealt Samuel to Atlanta.

Now Rodgers-Cromartie is front and center, and starring.

"It was one of those games where you had to dig deep and keep fighting and capitalize off of that; get in the film room and see what you can do better," he said. "No matter how it is, at the end of the day a win is a win. You just look to build off that and keep on going."
