The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 PM, but the Eagles made a move to alter their practice squad on Monday.
The Eagles signed a linebacker named Dallas – Dallas Gant – to the practice squad during Cowboys Week, no less. To make room, the team released offensive lineman Braeden Daniels.
A rookie free agent signing of the Minnesota Vikings following the 2024 NFL Draft, Gant (6-2, 224 pounds) was a teammate of Eagles first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell at Toledo. He was waived during the final roster cutdown at the end of August and re-signed to the practice squad. The Vikings released Gant from the practice squad on October 29.
The Toledo, Ohio native spent his final two college seasons at his hometown school, earning first-team All-MAC honors twice. He led the Rockets in tackles both years with 232, including 23.5 for loss, with a sack, an interception, seven pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 28 games.
Before transferring to Toledo, Gant spent four seasons at Ohio State, where he had 54 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 36 games.
Daniels, a former fourth-round pick of the Commanders, was signed to the practice squad on October 30.
