Roster Moves: Eagles WR Danny Gray, DB A.J. Woods to practice squad

Roster Moves 2024 Season

The Eagles announced changes to their roster on Tuesday afternoon.

The team signed wide receiver Danny Gray and defensive back A.J. Woods to their practice squad. To make room for the two, the Eagles have released wide receiver Griffin Hebert and linebacker Brandon Smith. Also, the Rams signed rookie offensive lineman Dylan McMahon from the Eagles' practice squad to their active roster.

Gray was drafted in the third round of the 2022 draft by the 49ers. The former SMU Mustang appeared in 13 games for the team over two seasons. At 6-foot-2, Gray will provide good size in the wide receivers room. During his senior season for SMU, Gray led the team in receiving yards with 803 and 9 touchdowns. He was invited to the NFL Combine, the Reese's Senior Bowl, and was named First-Team All-AAC.

Woods was an undrafted rookie free agent who spent time with the Commanders during Training Camp. During his senior season at Pittsburgh, Woods played in 12 games, tallying 30 tackles, two sacks, and an interception.

Smith spent most of the 2023 season on the Eagles' practice squad and was elevated twice for Week 15 against the Giants and Week 16 against the Cardinals, where he recorded one tackle in 31 special teams snaps.
