The Eagles announced that they have elevated veteran offensive lineman Nick Gates and tight end E.J. Jenkins from the practice squad for Friday night's game against the Packers.
Gates is in his seventh NFL season and first with the Eagles. He was signed by Philadelphia after Training Camp started but was relreceivingeased during the roster cutdown. Gates brings extensive starting experience, having played in 57 career regular-season games with 39 starts. He's started games at every offensive line position except left tackle in his career, with the majority at center. Gates previously played for the Giants and Commanders.
Jenkins flashed his receviing ability in the preseason and made a push for a spot on the 53-man roster, but landed on the practice squad. Jenkins spent time last season on the Eagles' practice squad and is in line to make his NFL debut in Brazil. At 6-6, 245 pounds, Jenkins would be the third tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra.
The Eagles are without cornerback Isaiah Rodgers (hand) and linebacker Devin White (ankle) due to injury. The rest of the inactives will be announced at 6:45 PM.
