The Eagles announced they have claimed defensive end Charles Harris off the waiver wire on Tuesday. Harris was cut by the Panthers on Monday and will join the Eagles' active roster.
Harris is a former first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins (No. 22 overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft. Harris played in nine games for the Panthers and was tied for the team lead in sacks with 3. He had 21 tackles and 7 quarterback hits in Carolina as well. Harris played at least 60 percent of defensive snaps in seven of the first eight games this year.
The 29-year-old played three seasons for the Dolphins, three for the Lions, and one for the Falcons before joining the Panthers.
The Kansas City, Missouri, native will provide experience and depth to the defensive unit, having played in 99 career games. Harris has accumulated 177 tackles (97 solo), 19.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles throughout his pro career.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Harris is in Year 8 in the league after coming from the University of Missouri.
To make room for Harris, the Eagles placed defensive end Brandon Graham on Injured Reserve on Tuesday, the team announced. Graham tore his triceps in the 37-20 victory over the Rams on Sunday night. Head Coach Nick Sirianni confirmed Graham would be out for the year at his Tuesday press conference.
"I don't want to go out like this, but if it's pointing toward that, we'll see. I don't know what the team's going to be feeling at that time, but I know for me, I don't want to go out like this. I definitely want to finish a whole season before I'm done, but if that's not in the cards, I'm content where I'm at too," Graham said.
Graham is the Eagles' all-time leader in games played, with 206, and moved into third all-time in sacks on Sunday (76.5). Graham, playing in his franchise-record 15th season, has 20 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 6 TFLs this season.
"His leadership is very special. BG is going to be around and he's going to be still leading. I know that man can lead when he's on the field, when he's off the field, no matter what, and I'm excited that we still have his leadership and everything that he feeds this football team," Sirianni said.

The Eagles have also signed defensive end KJ Henry to the practice squad.
With Graham and Bryce Huff on Injured Reserve, Henry will bring depth to the defensive line group.
Henry was drafted by Washington in the fifth round (No. 137) of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Clemson. The Winston-Salem, NC, native spent five seasons with the Tigers, playing in 58 games gathering 147 tackles, 13.5 sacks, and 28 TFLs.
He was a third-team All-American and second-team All-ACC selection by College Football Network. He was named one of ESPN's Top 100 (81) best players in college football in 2022.
The 25-year-old played 282 defensive snaps in 10 games with three starts as a rookie, tallying 19 tackles, four TFLs, two pass deflections and 1.5 sacks. After being waved by Washington after the preseason, he was claimed by the Bengals and later joined their practice squad. Henry suited up in two games, playing 11 snaps on defense.
Henry was claimed off waivers by the Bengals' before being waved and rejoining their practice squad. He was later signed off of their practice squad by the Cowboys in early October. He played in one game for Dallas, having one sack and three tackles.
The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Henry will be another option for Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio if the team elevates him or signs him to the active roster.
To make room for Henry on the practice squad, the Eagles released defensive tackle Siaki Ika and wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint.
Ika was a third-round pick by the Browns in 2023, who has spent time on and off the Eagles' practice squad this season. Ika played in four regular-season games for the Browns as a rookie.
Rosemy-Jacksaint was an undrafted free agent who spent Training Camp with the Commanders before being picked up by the Eagles. The former Georgia Bulldog had 74 catches for 1,028 and 7 touchdowns and four seasons with the school.
