The Eagles announced changes to their practice squad on Wednesday morning.
The team signed safety Caden Sterns and outside linebacker David Anenih to their practice squad. To make room for the additions, the Eagles released tight end Kevin Foelsch.
Sterns was originally signed by the Eagles on August 11, spending the preseason with the team before being cut and then signed to their practice squad. The former Denver Bronco has been released from the practice squad twice by the Eagles, but will return once again.
Sterns appeared in 20 games for the Broncos, garnering 49 tackles and four interceptions. He played as a rookie for Eagles Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio, who was the Broncos' head coach in 2021. Sterns suffered a torn patellar tendon in Week 1 last season and was activated off of the Physically Unable to Perform list on July 27.
Anenih was most recently signed by the Dolphins on August 12 and was waived on August 27. The 25-year-old joined the league as an undrafted free agent in 2022, spending time with the Titans, Steelers, Falcons, and Cardinals. He has not appeared in a regular-season game yet in his young NFL career.
Anenih was a defensive lineman for Houston in college, earning All-American Conference First Team honors in his senior season. He racked up 99 tackles and 20.5 sacks in five seasons with the Cougars.
Foelsch joined the team on August 3 after being claimed from the Jets. He was let go from the practice squad earlier in the month before being resigned and has now been released again.
Foelsch played five years with the University of New Haven, posting 73 receptions for 660 yards and 16 touchdowns. He appeared in all three preseason games for the Eagles, accumulating three catches for 17 yards. – Written by Liam Wichser
