The newest Eagle is experiencing a college reunion in Philadelphia.
The Eagles announced on Wednesday that they have signed defensive back Lewis Cine off of the Buffalo Bills' practice squad.
Cine (6-2, 199 pounds) was a former first-round pick (No. 32 overall) of the Minnesota Vikings out of the University of Georgia in 2022. Cine made his NFL debut in Week 2 of his rookie season in Philadelphia. He played 10 games for the Vikings over his two years with the team before joining the Bills' practice squad this year.
At Georgia, Cine was a first-team All-SEC selection and a third-team All-American in 2021. In his final game for the Bulldogs, he was the Defensive MVP in the National Championship win over Alabama. He had 145 tackles, 16 passes defensed, and two interceptions.
The Eagles also opened the 21-day practice window for defensive tackle Byron Young, who was placed on Injured Reserve on October 25 with a hamstring injury.
The second-year lineman was claimed off waivers by the Eagles from the Las Vegas Raiders on August 29 following the roster cutdown. Young has yet to play in a game for the Eagles this season.
A third-round pick out of Alabama in 2023, the 6-foot-3, 292-pound Young played in six games as a rookie for the Raiders, registering four tackles in 99 defensive snaps.
The Laurel, Mississippi native played in 54 games (26 starts) at Alabama, helping the Crimson Tide win the 2020 National Championship.
