Roster Moves: Eagles sign DB Tariq Castro-Fields to practice squad

Roster Moves 2024 Season

Following their 28-3 victory over the Giants on Sunday, the Eagles announced changes to their practice squad Monday afternoon.

The team signed defensive back Tariq Castro-Fields to their practice squad, while placing wide receiver John Ross on the Practice Squad Injured List.

Castro-Fields was drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 draft by the 49ers, where he was waived after a few months with the team. He was then picked up by the Commanders, where he played in eight games, recording four tackles.

Castro-Fields was picked up on waiver claims by the Panthers to begin the 2024 season, where he played nine snaps on special teams.

The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native played in 52 games at Penn State, starting 30 of them. He recorded 138 tackles (93 solo), 10 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and 25 pass breakups during his career. He was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl and named an All-Big Ten honorable mention during his senior season.

Ross, who was signed back to the Eagles' practice squad on September 24, has played in one game this season, making one catch for six yards.
