New Eagles linebacker DeMeco Ryans might be changing uniforms in 2012, but at least he won't be changing his jersey number.
The team announced on Thursday that Ryans will wear the No. 59 that he donned for the last six years in Houston. Linebacker Brian Rolle wore No. 59 last season for the Eagles. But Rolle, who was a rookie in 2011, told PhiladelphiaEagles.com that he was open to working something out to give Ryans his number.
"He's a six-year vet, so it's kind of hard to argue with a guy of his magnitude - a guy whose played many years, Pro Bowls, rookie of the year," Rolle said. "It'll be great to have a guy who has been through it all."
It is not known whether any deal was struck for the number. Rolle will now wear No. 52.
