Cornerback Asante Samuel (knee sprain) and defensive end Juqua Parker (hip flexor) will miss Wednesday's practice due to injury.
Head coach Andy Reid said that he is not sure exactly when Samuel suffered the injury during Sunday's win over the Giants. Reid said that Samuel believes it might have been on the fumble recovery. Samuel had two interceptions and a fumble recovery on Sunday. Joselio Hanson will take Samuel's reps in practice. As for Samuel's status for Sunday, Reid said that Samuel "wants to play in the game."
Parker was hindered by the hip injury prior to last week's game. Brandon Graham assumed most of the snaps at left defensive end last Sunday and forced the fumble that Samuel recovered.
Cornerback Ellis Hobbs was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday because of a herniated disc in his neck. To replace Hobbs' spot on the active roster, the Eagles signed another cornerback in Brandon Hughes from the Giants practice squad. It has not been determined whether Hobbs will undergo surgery.
Reid said that Hughes can play both the inside and outside cornerback spots, but was not signed to be a returner. Jorrick Calvin will resume kickoff return duties with Hobbs' injury.
The Eagles travel to Chicago to play the Bears on Sunday. Both teams are 7-3. Reid said that "every game down the stretch is important" because there are so many teams "clumped up."
