Wide receiver Jason Avant will host a free one-day football camp and community day in Camden, N.J. this Saturday at Woodrow Wilson High School. The football camp is open from 8 AM to 4 PM. Children who are 7 to 16 years of age are eligible to participate.
"This is a dream for me, and I'm very happy to have my friends and teammates joining me for my annual camp," Avant said. "I wanted to create a program for kids that not only teaches football skills but also teaches life skills. If my teammates and I can show good examples, then hopefully kids who attend my camp will learn important lessons about sports and life."
Avant is entering his eighth season with the Eagles. The former fourth-round pick of the team in 2006 posted a career-high 53 receptions in 2012. In fact, Avant has increased his catch total each season.
