Six members of the 1980 NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles stopped in at the NovaCare Complex Tuesday as they prepare to be honored tonight by the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation Awards Dinner. This year, of course, marks the 30th anniversary of the team's trip to the Super Bowl.
"I will always be a Philadelphia Eagle," said linebacker Jerry Robinson when he joined Dave Spadaro in Eagles Live!. "My heart has always been here with the Philadelphia Eagles fans. They're the greatest fans on the planet."
Joining Robinson at the NovaCare Complex were defensive end Dennis Harrison, offensive lineman Guy Morriss, wide receiver/returnman Wally Henry, wide receiver Charlie Smith and, of course, director of player programs, wide receiver Harold Carmichael.
The 2010 Otho Davis Sholarship Foundation Awards Dinner takes place tonight at the Sheraton Society Hill. The Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation was established November 29, 1999 at a dinner honoring Otho Davis, Head Trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1973-1995. That night, Otho requested that the net proceeds go towards a scholarship for aspiring undergraduate students studying sports marketing, sports medicine or a related field. Since the inaugural dinner, the foundation has raised over $100,000 in net proceeds.
