A sizzling summer became even hotter on Saturday night as Taylor Swift electrified a sold-out crowd of more than 51,000 screaming fans with more than two hours of her many hits.
The crossover pop/country sensation put on a spectacular show to begin an extremely busy week at Lincoln Financial Field. Sold-out shows earlier in the summer set the stage – Kenny Chesney and U2 rocked South Philadelphia – and more than 50,000 fans attended the Real Madrid-Philadelphia Union game a couple of weeks ago.
After Swift was finished playing on Saturday night, the Lincoln Financial Field staff was busy taking apart the stage and preparing the field for Wednesday's International soccer game between Mexico and the United States. The following night, of course, the Eagles open the 2011 preseason with a game against the Baltimore Ravens (7:30 p.m. kickoff, shown locally on 6abc).
