Tight end Brent Celek said after Saturday morning's walk thru that he will take part in the afternoon practice. Celek has been sidelined since the first full-team practice on July 26 with a knee sprain.
"I'm going to do some stuff today," Celek said. "I'll be out there running around with the guys. I'm excited to get back out there again."
Head coach Andy Reid said that Celek's running and cutting ability had to improve before he could play. Celek said that it's improved "a whole lot."
"I've done a lot with the trainers and they've done a good job. I'm going to come out today and give it all I've got," Celek said.
Celek bristled at the notion that he would have fresh legs on the field since he said he's been working hard in the weight room. After a productive spring set of camps, Celek looked healthy and primed for a big Training Camp. Celek described being sidelined as "annoying." The silver lining is that Clay Harbor has thrived with the first-team offense and both Brett Brackett and Chase Ford have shown that they are in the mix for roster spots on this team.
"They've done a great job. I'm really proud of them," Celek said. "We've got room to improve. They're doing that and they're giving it everything they've got."
