The Leftovers: Dominant 'D'

Dominant D ... After surrendering 75 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive of the game, the Eagles allowed just 172 yards on the final 12 drives that resulted in eight punts, two interceptions, a fumble and a turnover on downs … The defense forced three turnovers against a Giants team that came into the game with just three total giveaways in their previous five contests … The Eagles have scored 33 points off of turnovers in the last two games … The Eagles held the Giants to just 5.0 yards per pass attempt and prevented WR Odell Beckham from recording a second-half reception. It was the first time Beckham has ever been held without a catch in any half … The Eagles have not allowed an individual 100-yard rusher in the last 18 games and just one in their last 29 (Frank Gore on 9/28/14 at SF). Philadelphia and Atlanta hold the longest active streaks in the NFL.

I'll Take That ... The Eagles have forced seven turnovers over the last two games and 12 over the last four … With 16 total takeaways this season, the Eagles rank second in the NFL behind Denver (17) and are tied for the league lead with eight fumble recoveries … The Eagles have forced at least one turnover in 12 straight games for a total of 29 during that span.

Picking on Eli ... The Eagles tallied two interceptions against Eli Manning, who came into the game with just two interceptions this season and five in his last 11 outings dating back to last year … LB DeMeco Ryans recorded his seventh career interception. He has one in each of his four seasons as an Eagle and is the only NFL linebacker with at least one interception in each of the last four seasons … CB Nolan Carroll scored his first-career touchdown (and his first since playing wide receiver in high school) on an interception return.

Defensive Nuggets ... The defense registered three sacks of Eli Manning, including one 1.5 by DE Vinny Curry, a half sack by LB Brandon Graham and one by DE Fletcher Cox, who also forced a fumble … Over the last two games, Cox has amassed four sacks and three forced fumbles … Curry has 3.5 sacks in the last two home games against the Giants … S Malcolm Jenkins forced a fumble, the fifth of his career, that was recovered by Ryans … Ryans became the second Eagles linebacker this season to have an interception and a fumble recovery in the same game (Jordan Hicks).

Rush Hour ... RB DeMarco Murray eclipsed 100 yards rushing for the first time as an Eagle and the 20th time in his career … Coming into the game, the Giants ranked second in the NFL by allowing just 80.6 rushing yards per game and had not surrendered a 100-yard performer all year … Murray also scored his third rushing touchdown of the year. He has reached the end zone in back-to-back games and in three of five contests this season … Over the last two games, Murray has accumulated 243 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns.

Big Play Bird ... WR Riley Cooper had 76 receiving yards on three catches, including a 32-yard touchdown, his second of the season … Six of Cooper's 12 touchdowns since 2013 have covered 30 yards or more. Only eight players have more 30-plus yard touchdowns during that span … Cooper has 12 total receptions of 30-plus yards since 2013.

Birdseed...The Eagles have four 30-plus yard touchdown receptions this season, tying the Browns and the Giants for the league lead … RB Darren Sproles (17,178) surpassed Derrick Mason (17,150) and moved into 15th place in NFL history in terms of all-purpose yardage … Eagles are 12-3 in their last 15 games against the Giants … Chip Kelly improved his record to 4-1 against the Giants … Philadelphia has outscored New York 54-7 in their last two trips to Lincoln Financial Field … TE Brent Celek played in his 133rd career game, which ranks 22nd in team history and third among receivers and tight ends, trailing only Harold Carmichael (180) and Bobby Walston (148) … P Donnie Jones had a 54.3-yard gross average, which ranks as the third-best in Eagles history. His 49.0-yard net average tied for second, behind his team record of 50.7 set on 11/17/13 vs. Washington.
