It was a Festivus miracle in South Philadelphia as the Eagles gutted out a 32-30 victory over the Houston Texans.
There will be no airing of grievances from Eagles fans this week. There will be only glee, as the Eagles will have one last chance to earn their way back into the postseason in Week 17.
As for their victory in Week 16, it came thanks in part to three key individual performances, which make up your nominees for the Toyota Player of the Week:
QB Nick Foles
Nick Foles has had some great games during his career, but his performance against the Texans was undoubtedly one of his best.
It may not have been as significant as his playoff performances from last season or his seven-touchdown game back in 2013, but it was still very impressive, as he passed for a franchise-record 471 yards and four touchdowns on 35 completions.
He now has the most passing yards and passing touchdowns in a single game in team history. Foles also has the most 400-yard passing games in franchise history.
TE Zach Ertz
Foles was not the only Eagle breaking records against the Texans, as Zach Ertz broke the NFL record for receptions by a tight end in a single season.
Ertz's 12 catches against the Texans brought his 2018 total to 113, shattering the previous record of 110. Oh, by the way, Ertz had 12 catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns!
Ertz's 2018 season has been so off the charts that a 12-catch, 110-yard, two-touchdown game almost seems normal for him.
K Jake Elliott
The legend of Jake Elliott grew Sunday, as he drilled yet another clutch kick to give the Eagles a victory. On Sunday, it was a 35-yarder as time expired that increased the amount of love Eagles fans have for Elliott.
