Which new Eagles will step right in and be counted upon to help the team this year?
Defensive end Darryl Tapp, acquired in a trade from Seattle, should give the Eagles quality snaps from both sides of the defensive line of scrimmage. Ernie Sims is expected to be a playmaker at the WILL linebacker spot and use his speed to get to the football. The Eagles think wide receiver Hank Baskett can be a staple on special teams right away. He also gives the Eagles a big target in the passing game.
Those three players, along with the rookie class, must show in training camp that they are ready to contribute. The Eagles made some major moves in the previous months, promoting from within and reaching outside the organization to improve the roster.
