The Eagles announced on Wednesday that tight end Tyree Jackson could be sidelined for 8-10 weeks with a back injury. Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro has the details.
The 6-7, 249-pound Jackson was signed by the Eagles to a Reserve/Futures deal following the 2020 season. Jackson was trying to make the Eagles' roster as a tight end after a successful college career as a quarterback at the University of Buffalo. The MAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2018, Jackson threw for 6,999 yards, rushed for 757, and accounted for 65 total touchdowns in his college career.
Jackson signed with the Buffalo Bills as a rookie free agent in 2019 but was waived during the final roster cutdown. He was not on an NFL roster in 2020.
The Eagles have Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Richard Rodgers, Jack Stoll, and Jason Croom at tight end.
