For the NFL's most dynamic player, the fact that he is on pace to rack up 5,000 yards of total offense brings him no comfort. Until those yards lead to touchdowns and those touchdowns lead to wins, Michael Vick won't be satisfied.
Following three consecutive losses in which the team has surrendered a fourth-quarter lead, Vick believes his team has a renewed focus.
"We've got a lot of enthusiasm," said the 2010 Comeback Player of the Year. "We're just going to go out there, take it one game at a time, and try to get win number two. The guys in this locker room aren't frustrated, we're just eager and we have a big-time sense of urgency. "
The Bills will be a unique challenge for the Eagles. Their front seven is solid, with a trio of disruptive linemen who fit perfectly into their 3-4 scheme, and their offense is ranked 4th in the league in scoring, at 33.2 points-per-game. The former-Hokie signal caller believes that the two keys to righting the Eagles' ship are to be more efficient in the red zone offensively and to make stops in the it on defense.
The Birds were just two-for-seven in the red zone and allowed the 49ers to score touchdowns on two of their three trips inside the Eagles' 20 yard line.
"The red zone is something we've put a lot of focus on this week in practice," said Vick. "It's an area in which we've struggled and it's very important to succeed in it in this league.
With a 1-3 record and two division games on the horizon, Vick and the Eagles understand the importance of this week's game. Falling to 1-4 would put them in a hole that would difficult to climb out of.
"Every game from this point out is a 'must-win game' for us," said the 10-year veteran. "That's our approach moving forward. We're taking it one game at a time, because when you get too far ahead of yourself, you tend not to be able to focus on what's right in front of you. We can't dwell on last week. It's over. Now, it's on the next game."
