The awards and nominations for LeSean McCoy keep piling up after his superlative 2011 season. Next up for McCoy, who was named to the first-team All-Pro team last week, is now up for the FedEx Ground Player of the Year, and this time, you can vote for the Eagles running back.
McCoy is nominated alongside Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who led the league with 1,606 rushing yards, and Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, who ran for 1,364 yards. McCoy, meanwhile, led the league with 17 rushing touchdowns, also an Eagles franchise record along with his 20 total touchdowns. The third-year Eagle ran for 1,309 yards, despite sitting out the Week 17 finale. McCoy's 4.8 yards-per-carry average bested Jones-Drew's 4.7 and Rice's 4.7.
McCoy and Rice were the only two running backs to receive the FedEx Ground Player of the Week award twice in 2011 (McCoy did it in Week 1 and Week 8), while Jones-Drew actually failed to win any single week.
