The Eagles acquired wide receiver/kick returner Brad Smith on the Tuesday prior to the win over Washington and Smith, wearing No. 16, played in his Philadelphia debut on Sunday. Smith saw action on 17 snaps on special teams as a gunner in kick coverage and a blocker in the return game. He also played one snap from the line of scrimmage, starting out in the backfield and going in motion to the left side of the formation. Quarterback Nick Foles threw a screen pass to the right side for running back Bryce Brown, who galloped 24 yards on the play.
Smith will likely be a special teams player primarily, although the Eagles could mix him in here and there in the offense. It's also expected that he will challenge for some reps on kickoff returns soon.
