Wide receiver Reggie Brown was inactive for the first two games of the 2009 season. He expects to be inactive this Sunday as well when the Eagles host the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brown did not want to be interviewed at his locker Thursday afternoon prior to the team's practice. But when asked if he would be active for this Sunday's game, Brown simply shook his head.
Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg offered Brown some praise on the way he has looked in practice.
""He's doing everything he can. He really is playing at a high level. There are several things that happened last year, the most important one was the injuries throughout the year," Mornhinweg said. "He's on his way back, he's working hard. He's doing everything possible. We're going to need Reggie Brown at some point. He'll be ready, and he'll play at a high level. I was just talking about that the other day. There will be a game where he goes in and plays great and helps us win the game. Whether that be now or down the line, his preparation and his work ethic is important right now.""
Last week, the Eagles activated only four wide receivers. Brown and rookie Brandon Gibson were both healthy scratches. Head coach Andy Reid said that he wanted defensive end Jason Babin active since Victor Abiamiri was battling a groin injury. When asked if he would be active, Gibson said that he did not know.
