Some interesting depth chart notes to point out, keeping in mind that this is extremely early in the process and there will be plenty of changes to come. First, the most interesting aspect of the first-team defense's alignment was the presence of rookie linebacker Casey Matthews at middle linebacker. Matthews was surrounded at linebacker by Moise Fokou and Jamar Chaney.
The rest of the first-team defense was Trent Cole and Juqua Parker at defensive end, Mike Patterson and Antonio Dixon at defensive tackle, Kurt Coleman and Nate Allen at safety and Trevard Lindley and Joselio Hanson at cornerback (with Lindley on the right). Allen, who is coming off a season-ending knee injury, did not participate fully in all drills, with Marlin Jackson stepping in for him when needed.
On offense, the most intriguing note was the alignment of the offensive line which was, from left to right, Jason Peters, Todd Herremans, Jamaal Jackson, Mike McGlynn and King Dunlap. Remember, however, that neither Danny Watkins (still unsigned) and Winston Justice (Physically Unable to Perform list) were participating.
