The Eagles acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round draft pick in exchange for quarterback Kevin Kolb on Thursday. In addition, Kolb has agreed to a contract extension with Arizona.
The 25-year-old Rodgers-Cromartie has 13 career interceptions and has played in all 48 career games, starting in all but five his rookie season. The 16th-overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, Rodgers-Cromartie earned Pro Bowl honors in 2009 after notching six interceptions. In addition, Rodgers-Cromartie has three career postseason picks as well.
In addition to his youth, Rodgers-Cromartie has tremendous size at 6-2, 182 pounds. Cornerback Jorrick Calvin was a teammate of Rodgers-Cromartie last offseason and provided a scouting report.
"It'll be a great feeling for me because when I was in Arizona I always wanted to play with him," Calvin said. "He took me under his wing. He's got speed and covering ability, one-on-one coverage all day."
