The Eagles added depth to their quarterback room, selecting Kyle McCord with the 181st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

McCord, a Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, native, led the FBS with an ACC-record 4,779 passing yards during his senior season at Syracuse.

"I really had no idea who it was going to be and then I got the call from the 2-1-5 number. It was just a surreal moment, obviously growing up in the area and being around a ton of Eagles fans. You always dream of being a quarterback on the Eagles, but obviously any team could have came and got me at that point. Just a surreal moment, a lot of hard work was put in to get there and it was just a great moment to share with all of them," McCord said in a virtual press conference with the Philadelphia media.

The 6-foot-3, 218-pound quarterback played three seasons at Ohio State before transferring to Syracuse, where he earned second-team All-ACC honors.

The selection will be a homecoming for McCord, who attended high school in Philadelphia at St. Joseph's Prep, where he was a five-star recruit.

"What you see with Kyle is just his mind works very fast out there out there on the football field. He makes good, quick decisions with the football, is an accurate passer. Led the country in passing yards this this past season. But what really stands out again is just how quickly he moves through progressions and how quickly his mind works. Really excited to work with him," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said.

McCord set school records with 391 completions and 34 passing touchdowns (fifth nationally) for Syracuse.

He finished 10th in Heisman Trophy voting, becoming the first Syracuse player to finish in the top 10 since Dwight Freeney was ninth in 2001.
