On the eve of the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders for the right to go to Super Bowl LIX, the Eagles announced the following roster moves:
- Elevated FB Khari Blasingame for Sunday's game
- Elevated LB Nicholas Morrow for Sunday's game
- Signed DE KJ Henry to the practice squad
- Released OL Cameron Erving from the practice squad
The Eagles will announce their gameday inactives on Sunday at 1:30 PM.
FB Khari Blasingame
Blasingame was elevated for the first two playoff games as well, playing primarily on special teams (25 snaps).
No stranger to the playoffs, this is Blasingame's fourth postseason and last Sunday marked his seventh career game. He played in the AFC Championship Game as a rookie.
The 6-foot, 233-pound fullback spent three seasons in Tennessee and was in the midst of his third with the Chicago Bears when he was released. The Eagles signed him to the practice squad on December 3 following the season-ending injury to linebacker/fullback Ben VanSumeren. Blasingame was elevated from the practice squad three times by the Eagles in the regular season.
LB Nicholas Morrow
Signed to the practice squad following the season-ending injury to Nakobe Dean, Morrow was elevated for last Sunday's Divisional Round win over the Rams and played 18 snaps on special teams, fifth most on the team.
A seven-year veteran, Morrow was the ideal late-season roster replacement for Dean because he spent this season excelling on special teams for the Bills, playing in 11 games during the regular season. With Oren Burks filling the role on defense left in Dean's absence, the Eagles wanted to shore up the special teams unit.
Morrow is also familiar with Philadelphia, having started 12 games last season on defense and posting 93 tackles and three sacks. He could fill in there in an emergency situation.
Sunday would be Morrow's first NFC Championship Game.
DE KJ Henry
A former fifth-round pick of Sunday's opponent, the Washington Commanders, Henry was released from the Eagles' practice squad on Wednesday, only to return three days later. Henry did not see any game action in his previous stint on the Eagles' practice squad.
Henry spent the first part of the season with the Cowboys, where he picked up a sack in one game. During his time in Washington, he played in 10 games as a rookie (three starts), accumulating 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
At Clemson, Henry had 13 sacks in 48 career games.
OL Cameron Erving
A former first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2015, Erving (6-5, 313 pounds) was signed to the practice squad this past Wednesday. He has played in 98 career regular-season games and another three in the postseason. He was a member of Kansas City's 2019 Super Bowl Championship team.
