LB Marcus Smith Suffers Hamstring Injury

Second-year linebacker Marcus Smith suffered what the Eagles called a hamstring injury during a special teams drill early in Thursday's joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens. Smith walked off the field with the assistance of trainers before being carted to the locker room. There was no announcement regarding the severity of the injury or how long he will be out.

Smith is in the mix to be the third player in the outside linebacker rotation this year behind entrenched starters Connor Barwin and Brandon Graham. Bryan Braman went in for Smith and was paired with Vinny Curry as the second-team outside linebackers during 11-on-11 drills.

Head coach Chip Kelly was asked about the outside linebacker depth prior to practice. It's not a concern for Kelly, but rather a question that remains unanswered.

"I just think it's trying to figure out who those guys are," Kelly said. "We have two proven ones in Brandon (Graham) and Connor (Barwin) and then who the third is really going to be the big question for us. That's what we're trying to find out here in this preseason."
