Eagles vs. Giants Injury Report

Head Coach Nick Sirianni disclosed on Monday that starting left tackle Jordan Mailata – Pro Football Focus' No. 1 pass-blocking tackle this season and No. 4 overall tackle – will miss this Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury.

Fred Johnson, who has subbed in at both right and left tackle this season, is an option to start for Mailata. Right guard Mekhi Becton, who has started 28 career games at left tackle from his time with the New York Jets, said he would be ready if needed to fill in.

On Monday, Sirianni didn't have an update on the conditions of tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and cornerback Darius Slay (knee), who exited Sunday's game early along with Mailata. Goedert missed Wednesday's practice, but Slay was a limited participant. Grant Calcaterra had a career day in Goedert's absence with four catches for 67 yards against the Browns.

"Grant has been everything we expected as a draft pick when we took him a couple years ago and then some," Sirianni said. "He just keeps getting better.

"As bummed as I would be if Dallas is out, I'll be really excited about his opportunity like he got last week. Yeah, I'm excited for him."

In addition to Goedert and Mailata, defensive tackle Milton Williams also missed practice with an ankle injury.

Along with Slay, linebacker Oren Burks (groin) and outside linebacker Jalyx Hunt (ankle) were limited.

The Eagles opened tight end Albert Okwuegbunam's 21-day practice window on Wednesday. He was a full participant as he's recovered from an abdomen injury that put him on Injured Reserve to open the season. Safety Sydney Brown (Knee; Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform) and wide receiver Ainias Smith (Ankle; Injured Reserve; Designated for Return) were also full participants. The Eagles would have to open a roster spot to activate any of those three players.

Meanwhile, up the New Jersey Turnpike ...

The Giants will be without left tackle Andrew Thomas for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on his foot, the team announced. Thomas told reporters that he suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday night's loss to the Bengals, but played through it. The Giants' starting offensive line has played 100 percent of the snaps through Week 6.

That streak will end on Sunday.

Third-year lineman Joshua Ezeudu is expected to start in Thomas' absence. Ezeudu started five games in 2023 when Thomas battled a hamstring injury. For the season, Ezeudu posted a PFF grade of 48 and a pass-blocking grade of 39.3.

Two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Brian Burns did not practice for the Giants on Wednesday. Acquired in an offseason trade from the Carolina Panthers, Burns has two sacks for the Giants, but battled through Sunday's loss with a groin injury.

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, a 340-pound wrecking ball in the middle of the Giants' defense line, also did not practice on Wednesday as he's dealing with a hip injury.

Both Burns and Lawrence are "day to day," according to Head Coach Brian Daboll.

Daboll added that the Giants are "optimistic" about the return of first-round draft pick Malik Nabers, who has missed the last two games with a concussion. Nabers was a limited non-contact participant.

Running back Devin Singletary was also a limited participant after missing Sunday night's game with a groin injury. He was limited in practice all last week and was unable to go.

Punter Jamie Gillan, who was inactive for the Sunday night game with a hamstring injury, also missed Wednesday's practice. The Giants signed Matt Haack to the active roster last week to fill in for Gillan.

Three of the Giants' other wide receivers – Bryce Ford-Wheaton (shoulder), Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle), and Darius Slayton (groin) – were limited on Wednesday, along with linebacker Ty Summers (hamstring).
