"It's our turn."
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put the world on notice in an ad campaign that debuted on Monday promoting the arrival of men's and women's flag football as an Olympic event in 2028.
Could Hurts be the quarterback for Team USA in four years? Time will tell, but the global flag football ambassador lit the torch at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum – the site of the 2028 Summer Olympics – in a way befitting for the two-time Pro Bowl selection.
A staunch advocate of empowering women in sports, Hurts attended the Eagles Girls Flag Football League Championships at the NovaCare Complex in June to watch the title games and pose for pictures with the winning teams from Pennsylvania (Archbishop Wood) and New Jersey (Kingsway).
"It was an honor to be a part of this and witness this special event," Hurts said in June. "There has to be some respect put on the work that it takes to prepare to play any type of game. Just to see how dialed in and focused they were, how excited they were to play the game, that meant a lot.
"There is a lot of talent there. These young girls have the opportunity to play the game they love and that's what it's all about. I was a fan out there and I loved every moment of it."
