The Eagles announced Wednesday that they promoted safety Tre Sullivan to the active roster and waived recently claimed defensive tackle T.Y. McGill following a failed physical.
McGill was claimed by the Eagles on Monday after it was announced that running back Jay Ajayi would be placed on Injured Reserve. He was claimed shortly after being waived by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Sullivan was signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was waived in September 2017 before returning in November as a member of the practice squad. Sullivan spent all of Training Camp with the Eagles in 2018 and played in the Eagles' first regular-season game against the Atlanta Falcons. He played 48 percent of special teams snaps in the win. He was waived when linebacker Nigel Bradham and safety Deiondre' Hall came off suspension but was immediately brought back to the practice squad.
The active roster remains at 53 players while the practice squad now has eight players.
